Romania will continue to support Moldovan efforts for European integration. At least this support was promised by the Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta to the first Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Moldova, Vlad Plahotniuc, during a meeting at the Congress of European Socialists in Brussels.
"During the meeting, Vlad Plahotniuc and Victor Ponta addressed the topic of enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries. With this objective, the two officials proposed further collaboration between the two parties they represent and which belong to the same European political family", a release issued by PDM says.
"The Romanian Prime Minister gave assurances that Romania would continue to support the Republic of Moldova in its integration into the European Union and in reforms. "In the European Union, which I hope Moldova will join soon, each political relationship and each personal relationship is very important. I think it is important that socialist prime ministers, and prime ministers representing the European People's Party also support Moldova", said Victor Ponta.
